Company Description:

Community spirit and support are recurring themes throughout our history. In 1902, Henry E. Goddard opened a hospital in his home. Many years later, in 1959, Goddard Memorial Hospital was established on Sumner Street in Stoughton. Soon thereafter, in the early 1960s, the area experienced tremendous growth, triggering the need for a new hospital. With the unwavering support of the community, Cardinal Cushing General Hospital opened in Brockton in January of 1968.

In 1993, Goddard Memorial and Cardinal Cushing became one. The result was Good Samaritan Medical Center.

In 1999, Good Samaritan became a member of the Caritas Christi Health Care System, becoming Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center is a Catholic, not-for-profit, community teaching hospital committed to bringing state-of-the-art medicine and procedures to you in a comfortable setting close to home.
