Concord Hospital is a regional medical center serving 22 central New Hampshire communities. It is the second busiest acute care hospital in the state with 200 staffed beds and 14,240 admissions in 2001. Its 24-hour Emergency Department, a state-designated Level II Regional Trauma Center with neurosurgeons and other highly trained physicians on call 24 hours per day, cares for nearly 50,000 patients each year. Traditional acute-care services in 30 medical specialty areas are enhanced and supported by such options as ambulatory care and a day-surgery center, a sleep center, and comprehensive rehabilitation services. Its thirteen operating rooms and intensive/cardiac care units are among the most sophisticated in the state.

The Family Place offers family-centered, single-room birthing and has an operating room dedicated to cesarean sections. The Concord Hospital Center for Cardiac Care, in partnership with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, offers comprehensive cardiac services, including prevention and education, diagnostics, therapeutics, surgery and rehabilitation. Additionally, the hospital is a regional referral center for complex orthopaedic services. Concord Hospital is an affiliate of Capital Region Health Care which includes Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, Monadnock Community Hospital, Riverbend Community Mental Health and related affiliates. The Payson Center for Cancer Care offers radiation therapy services, chemotherapy services, and cancer support services all located in one building. Additionally, a new breast care center will open in the fall of 2003.
