Franciscan Children's Hospital established in 1949, and sponsored by Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, is a not-for-profit organization. The Hospital offers an array of inpatient, residential, outpatient, and educational programs for children recovering from a wide range of conditions such as: catastrophic injury, major physical disability, illness and emotional and behavioral problems. Franciscan Children's Hospital is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities . The hospital's unique blend of pediatric services has been recognized by former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, who stated, "I appreciate the important difference that your work is making in the lives of children and families."
As New England's largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital, FCH has gained national recognition in helping children. The Hospital collaborates with all major medical centers throughout New England and other tertiary facilities throughout the country. FCH is a major teaching affiliate of Harvard School of Medicine , Boston University's School of Medicine and its Goldman School of Dental Medicine as well as dozens of colleges and universities nationally. Through our family-centered programs, our physicians, nurses, clinicians and educators are committed to helping children and adolescents reach their full potential.
For 50 years, Franciscan Children's Hospital has pioneered clinical, therapeutic and educational programs for children with a variety of disabilities. Through the decades, we have expanded the complement of programs and services for children with an ongoing commitment to special needs children.
